“[sic] conjure the most riveting instrumental metal we’ve heard in a long, long time.  We’ll be the first to agree that this stuff shouldn’t excite us as much as it does.  Since when does instrumental rock have anywhere near the impact of more goat-mutilating, Christ-baiting, zombie-shredding forms of extremity?  Since now.”

“Sisters Of… also display their “stonerish” and massive riffing. We’re constantly smacked in the face by the heaving hitting, chuggy and groovy riffs. Some parts almost remind me of a more simplified (and this is not a bad thing) version of Russian Circles (and maybe a pinch of Pelican).”

“An instrumental post metal album is something else entirely. Sisters Of… have created an awesome album with their post metal that brings a whole new meaning to the word “atmospheric” with all 8 tracks having very well done riffs and sounds to them that only a post metal band could do, but Sisters Of… have taken that and increased the awesomeness ten fold and thensome!”

“Excellent flow, along with an instantly likable grasp of the post-metal template, Sisters of… figures to be a sleeper band for 2015 when it comes to atmospheric metal of this sort”

“While moments of Germana Cele are reminiscent of the more noodly aspects of Animals As Leaders, and the swelling, tidal force of Annabelle calls to mind a Panopticon-era Isis, the trio clearly realise the benefits of measured restraint too, notably during the Russian Circles-esque Annaliese.”

“In this review, I’ve highlighted only three tracks from this album, mostly because of the thematic connections I see in the titles, but there’s much more to discover here. I’ve especially neglected thinking about the angel mentioned in the title. Perhaps there are moments of redemption or at least something like outside help amidst all the trouble. I’d like to think so. Fortunately, “The Angel” is also a really good track. Check out “Leva In Mare” as well. Fans of post-metal will find this recording satisfying. I think it may also persuade listeners new to this style.”

“The fact there are very few words sung matters little as the music is an encyclopaedia it will tell you what you need to see, hear, feel and explore and that to me is just pure magic!”

“Sisters Of… have really mastered the command of the riff on this album and while you can’t help but feel during some of the songs that additional vocals would have worked a treat, the album definitely stands up on its own.”

“This track is definitely an attention grabber and it makes for an exciting prediction towards what the next album from Sisters of… is going to sound like. Whether the rest of the record features similar patterns to this track or if this is only a snippet towards a possible wide range of styles that we could see, “Adulescentia” is able to build up a justified amount of curiosity for their next release.”

“Follow Me As a Ghost’s five evocative songs, including “In a Sea of Red Strands”, “Sister Chance” and the epic “Circle/9”, draw you in as steel-clad exteriors give way to dark melodic eddies. Huge, chugging Neurosis-esque barrages feature, as do swells of harmonic guitar, à la Mogwai, and acoustic movements, distorting dirges, and pounding percussion build to detonating crescendos throughout.”
